Meduza: Songs and Collaborations
Meduza went from unknown to everywhere in a year with two tracks that still define them as the biggest Italian house trio of the era.
The moment it all shifted
Three producers from Milan. Luca de Gregorio, Mattia Vitale and Simone Giani had been making music together since 2014, but they didn't officially form as Meduza until 2018. They could have stayed in that lane for years. Instead, two songs landed back to back in 2019 and changed everything. "Piece of Your Heart" featuring Goodboys reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the US Dance Charts. Then "Lose Control" with Becky Hill and Goodboys proved it wasn't a fluke. Both songs are still everywhere. Combined, they've passed three billion streams and counting. "Piece of Your Heart" alone earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 62nd Grammy Awards. Not bad for a production trio that didn't officially exist three years before that.
How the sound sits
Meduza work at the polished, festival-ready end of house music. Deep house grooves with a tech house edge, built to work on headphones and in massive sound systems alike. If you know Disclosure, Calvin Harris or Hot Chip, you'll feel right at home here. But the key difference is that Meduza almost always bring in a guest vocalist. The songs come first, the production serves them, not the other way around.
Building beyond the breakthrough
They haven't rested on those two hits. Their self-titled double EP arrived in February 2023 and went multi-platinum and gold. In 2024, they were chosen to write UEFA EURO 2024's official tournament anthem, "Fire". Their catalogue of collaborations stretches from Goodboys to Becky Hill to Dermot Kennedy to Hozier. Each one brings real songwriting to the dancefloor. They're consistently ranked among the most globally streamed Italian artists in music history, and they've only been officially working for eight years.
