Oktoberfest Sunderland
Oktoberfest comes to Sunderland city centre this month!
A Bavarian-style beer festival will take over a heated marquee on High Street West for two days in October.
Sunderland is getting a taste of Bavaria as an award-winning Oktoberfest event arrives in the city centre.
Organisers Live Republic are bringing the festival to High Street West, next to M&S, on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October.
This event recently won the Skiddle Memorable Seasonal Activity Award, and promises plenty of fun, singing and dancing inspired by Munich's famous beer festival.
Visitors can expect giant steins, traditional German food and Oktoberfest-themed décor, with live music from a five-piece Oompah band and a Bavarian DJ.
There are three sessions to choose from, all for over-18s only:
Friday 16 October: 6pm to 11pm
Saturday 17 October: 12pm to 5pm, or
Saturday 17 October: 6pm to 11pm
Guests are being encouraged to dress up in traditional Lederhosen and Dirndls for the occasion.
Seating is on benches, which are allocated on a first-booked basis.
Tables seat up to eight people, so smaller groups may be seated alongside other guests.
Tickets are limited so book early!
