Whether you’re a seasoned theatre-goer or discovering the magic for the first time, step behind the curtain at Newcastle Theatre Royal for a special Open Day. This free event invites theatre lovers of all ages to explore this stunning venue, meet the team, and experience the magic of the arts. You’ll have the chance to chat with staff from different departments, visit the Box Office for tickets, and discover more about upcoming shows, memberships, and ways to get involved.
There will be a range of free activities to take part in, including:
- History Talks – from its opening in 1837 to the present day.
- Adult Acting Workshop – Explore text, develop performance skills, and build confidence.
- Theatre Tours – Go behind the scenes on an expert-led tour of our stunning theatre, from the grand auditorium to backstage areas.
- Stage Demonstration – Discover how sound and lighting bring productions to life
For the kids, there will be a chance to make their own masks, design badges, and decorate a theatre-themed tote bag to take home. They can also explore the Theatre in search of hidden eggs.
This free event runs on Thu 17th Apr ONLY between 10am–3pm.
