Greys Monument Tours

Back again for 2025 - a unique opportunity to climb the 164 steps to the top of Grey’s Monument. From here you can enjoy unrivalled views over Grainger Town’s magnificently preserved Georgian architecture. You need to be relatively fit and there are some enclosed spaces.

Tours last approx 30 minutes. There a various times slots throughout the day, but they fill up very quickly!

Tickets for the June openings (7th & 21st) are now sold out. The next tours will take place on Saturday 5th July, with tickets on sale on Saturday 21st June at 9am. All the details along with the booking link are on the Frisk List.

Greys Monument, Newcastle

The Monument is named after the 2nd Earl Grey, Charles Grey, who came from the North East and was British Prime Minister in the 1830s - the famous Earl Grey tea blend was named after him too!
