Open Wed - Sun from 10am - 6pm. Free entry. Nestled on Gateshead quayside they give a warm welcome and four floors of art to explore. From sculptural myth-worlds to burning oil fields, discover something different at Baltic. View the River Tyne through the much-loved scenic lifts, made of glass to provide panoramic views of the iconic river. On Level 4 you will find their Viewing Terrace giving your incredible views of the Newcastle/Gateshead cityscape. As well as various exhibitions they also have: SENSORY ROOM - A quiet space to play and explore with sensory toys, projections and lights. No need to book, simply drop in. Bring your little ones and rest with light-up orbs and cubes, large soft shapes, matting and a sofa to relax on. LEARNING LOUNGE - Free, no need to book. Here you will find a space to find out more about art, explore Baltic’s projects with partners, artists and our communities. There’s a pair of computers and free wi-fi that can be used. Learning Lounge also has educational games, toys and books for you to use. At weekends families can take part in self-led creative activities.
