Festival of the Girl
Saturday 21 March, 10:30
Festival of the Girl is a non-profit event created to empower young girls aged 7-11. It is leaving London for the first time and coming to Newcastle this March!
Taking place at Newcastle University's Sports Hall and delivered in partnership with NorthStandard, this festival is challenging harmful stereotypes, sparking big conversations early and giving young girls the confidence to explore who they are.
Divided into a morning (10:30am-1:30pm) and an afternoon (2pm-5pm) session, there'll be workshops, interactive activities and talks to enjoy - including a STEMAZING workshop showing girls STEM has no limites and a meet-and-greet with the women of Northumbria Police Forensics.
