Ocean Beach Pleasure Park Height Restrictions
Every Ocean Beach ride lists a minimum height and many let shorter children ride with an adult, so here's the full lookup before you go.
Good news if you have a child who is borderline for the bigger rides: Ocean Beach lists a minimum height for every ride that has one, right on each ride's own page. So you can plan before you go. Here is the full picture, by height, so you know what your child can get on.
Ride heights at a glance
The heights below are the minimum to ride on your own. On several rides a shorter child can still ride if a paying adult goes with them, shown as the "with an adult" band.
No height limit
The gentlest little-ones' rides, like the carousel, teacups, Toy Express, flying jets and mini trampolines, have no minimum height. Ideal for toddlers.

- Inflatable Slide

- Twist (1m to 1.2m with a paying adult)
From 1.3m (about 4ft 3in)
- Matterhorn, Miami Surf and the Super Jumper (Crazy Frog)
From 1.4m (about 4ft 7in)
- Space (1.27m to 1.4m with a paying adult) and Super Trooper
Family Tip Measure your child in normal shoes before you set off. Heights are checked with the ride's own gauge on the day, so if they are right on a limit, it helps to know which rides have a "with an adult" band.
A few rides work differently
- Bumper Cars: for under-14s, with height and weight limits at the operator's discretion.
- Crazy Cottage: an adult can go in with a child, free, at the operator's discretion.
- Helter Skelter: an adult may ride with a smaller child.
- Circus Inflatable: adults only when accompanying small children, and no babies.
How to use this
Entry to the park is free, so you can walk round and match your child to the rides before you spend anything. Rides run on a Tap & Play Fun Card, and any credit you do not use doesn't expire, so you can save it for your next visit. If your child is close to a limit and set on one particular ride, every height is listed on the ride pages at oceanbeach.co.uk, or you can call the park on 0191 456 1617 to check.
If your children are different heights
Plan a mix so nobody spends the day watching from the side. Pair the taller-only rides with ones the whole family can do, the arcades, Quasar laser tag or the beach, and use the "with an adult" bands to get a younger child onto more of the action.
FAQs
Where can I check a ride's height limit?
Every ride with a height limit lists it on its own page at oceanbeach.co.uk, and it is signed at the ride too. If in doubt, call the park on 0191 456 1617.
Can a younger or shorter child ride with an adult?
On many rides, yes. The Waltzer, Pirate Ship, Dodgems, Twist, Speedy Coaster, Balloon Wheel and Space all let a shorter child ride within a set height band if a paying adult goes with them.
Do you pay to get in?
No, entry is free. You only pay for the rides you go on, using credit on a Tap & Play Fun Card, and any unused credit doesn't expire.
