The voice nobody credited
2014 was the year Kelli-Leigh's voice changed UK dance music. Duke Dumont's I Got U featuring Jax Jones hit number one. Second City's I Wanna Feel hit number one. Both records went massive on the basis of one thing: her vocal. Neither had her name on the credits. Years later, after she'd already built something else entirely, the world caught up and realised who'd been singing those records.
The earlier voice
Before those number ones, Bingo Players' Cry (Just a Little) (2011) was the first sign of what that voice could do. She was already singing for Adele and Leona Lewis as a backing vocalist before any of this happened. Selhurst, South London, trained at The BRIT School alongside Katie Melua and Leona Lewis, came from a family of musicians. That voice sits somewhere between Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston, but built for the dancefloor instead of the ballad.
The moment she got credited
2017. James Hype with Kelli-Leigh on More Than Friends. UK number 8. First time her name appeared on the tracklisting of a hit. It matters because it marks a shift: from invisible vocal to artist. She'd also founded her own label, Music Core, and released Do You Wanna Be Loved Like This? as her solo debut in 2018.

She's written with Tiësto, Sub Focus, Benny Benassi and Sonny Fodera. She's done vocal work with Low Steppa, Ferreck Dawn and Redondo. That voice has travelled well beyond any single hit, picked up by tastemakers and dancefloors across the UK and internationally. Every artist who gets her on a record knows they're getting something that changes the whole thing.
