Frisk Radio launch cheesy pop spin-off station!
Guilty pleasures is right, a spin-off station of cheesy 80s and 90s pops that you'll either love or hate entirely.
Following on from their early DAB success, North East media start-up, Frisk Radio have launched their first spin-off station “Frisk Guilty Pleasures”
A poptastic playlist of cheesy 80s & 90s hits!
The station’s playlist boasts Stock, Aitken & Waterman staples like Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Bananarama – paired with rarely aired 90s teen pop acts, including Atomic Kitten, Whigfield and Boyzone.
Frisk Radio’s director Stuart Landreth explained Frisk Guilty Pleasures’ proposition:
The station is pure marmite – you’re going to either love it or hate it!
The concept behind Guilty Pleasures is songs that you’re almost too embarrassed to listen to, despite knowing the lyrics off by heart!
In picking the playlist, we’ve dug out old records and compilation CDs and uncovered forgotten gems that no other network station would touch – creating a unique “no holds barred” soundtrack that we think will really stand out in the marketplace.
Celebrating Kylie & Jason
The station launched today at 9am with Kylie & Jason’s “Especially For You” – which was re-issued today to celebrate Scott & Charlene’s return to Ramsey Street – for the grand finale of Neighbours.
