Will your dog be the next cover star of the North East Dog Festival?
One very special dog is about to become the face of the show programme for this year’s North East Dog Festival, happening on the 22nd & 23rd of August. Could it be yours? Whether they're adventurous, mischievous, photogenic or simply impossible not to love, we want to see them.
We are looking for the best looking pooch to feature on the front cover of this year's festival show programme which is available throughout the weekend and are also available to download before the big event. Your dog may need to start practicing their pawtographs, just in case that newfound celebrity status goes straight to their furry head!!
The winner will get a professional photoshoot courtesy of Rebecca Ashworth-Earle, North East dog photographer, and an image will be chosen from the shoot for the front cover. Plus the winner will get weekend tickets for the festival and festival goodies.
The North East Dog Festival celebrates it's 11th year at Kirkley Hall, Northumberland on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of August 2026. There's a whole heap of things to see and do with over 120 trade stands from well known brands and returning festival favourites, to the main area displays. Plus, there's even have-a-go activities for your dogs to get involved too.
It's a great family day out, and not just for dog owners! The North East Dog Festival proudly supports local businesses, and welcomes rescue dogs, working dogs and pet dogs alike.

One entry per e-mail address. Correct details must be provided and may be verified with valid UK ID if you are the winner.
One entry per dog. If you wish to enter more than one dog into this competition, you must also use a unique, alternative email address to avoid exclusion.
Photographs must have been taken within the last 12 months. The winner must be able to travel to Druridge Bay Country Park before the end of July 2026. One image from the shoot will be used as the front cover of the 2026 North East Dog Festival Show Programme. Prize is non-transferable.
The North East Dog Festival team will narrow the entries down to a top 3 after entries close. The top 3 will be announced on Monday 6th of July, where a public vote will decide on the winner. The winner will be announced on Monday 13th July.
Management reserve the right to refuse entry. If the winner can not fulfil the photoshoot requirements, the promoter will select the desired cover star.
