The Dorman Museum offers a great range of permanent display galleries to captivate visitors of all ages, from outer space to Middlesbrough through time.
* Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar. Admission is FREE!
Open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 4:30pm.
The museum features a wide range of exhibitions and displays covering local industrial, maritime and social history. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful grounds found around the museum, with excitement and adventure for children of all ages.
* Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens. Admission is FREE!
Open Monday - Friday 9.30am- 5pm. Saturday 1am - 4pm
With a dinosaur trail, amazing fish to discover and 2 art galleries to explore there is something for everyone. The Winter Gardens showcase a garden for all seasons. They have a cafe on site, and the lovely Mowbray Park, with play area and huge pond, sits directly behind the museum.
* The Great North Museum (Formally: The Hancock Museum) in Newcastle. Admission is FREE!

This fantastic science and local history museum is brilliant! Expect a science maze, three floors of galleries showcasing Tyneside's history. You'll find dinosaurs, fossils and Egyptians too.
